'Sea is a place of strength. It gives life and takes it. It destroys and brings changes. When the sea is calm the world is in harmony. Tranquillity is the moment when everything is in balance and all elements complete each other...water and earth; air and fire. This painting represents the balance after the flood, when waves are calm and ‘young’ mountains are born beyond the horizon. It is about a pure moment which leads to a new beginning.'
